CD review: SIXX:AM - The Heroin Diaries
„My deepest, darkest moments are out there.“ Soundtrack for a non-existing film. Prepare your mind, imagine a cruel word, push play… My dear diary, I listened to a very unusual album today. I realy don´t know what to think about it. In one moment I was scared, in the other I had tears in my eyes. It starts with a monologue about Xmas, about fucking Xmas (it reminds me lyrics of Radiohead´s Fitter happier). Following Van Nuys is very strong – lyrics and music. So emotional, I think! Next is Life is beautiful – song with great guitar parts, I can say it is a metal song (yes, I imagined different song with this poet name, shame). Pray for me is number four. I wanted to stop listening – so boring, so simmilar… But I didn´t! The next song – Tommorow is absolutely fabulous! Continuing with Accident will happen – this song is the best on this album, in my opinion. Next Intermission is again starting with monologue and again you can listen to long guitar parts. Dead man‘s ballet is whole about blaming God, dying, drugs… a bit depressing song. Piano opens Heart failure, but it is the next metal song on this album. Slow, sweet, sexy Girl with golden eyes contents next part of the Heroine diary – experience with methadone. Blistering song Courtesy call and intimate Permission is absolutely truth. The last Life after death is weird, I don´t want to life after death like this! So what is the conclusion? Maybe my opinion is different from American’s (they like this album a lot!), maybe because of I´m not on the drugs… But I expect something better. Yeah, it´s not a bad album, definitely not! But… I feel only a tendency to write out the feeling from a bad period of Nikki Sixx´s life. Nothing else, sorry ![]()

Counting Crows, Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings
One listen to this album shows you, once again, how damned efficient they are at summoning up the spirit of an age that cared more about music than image.
Hercules & Love Affair, Hercules & Love Affair
