Angels and Airwaves announced tour dates!
With the hiatus of pop-punk superstars blink-182 in full effect by the fall of 2005, singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge revealed the formation of his new band — one he'd already been working with for six months — Angels Airwaves. With the notoriety of his previous group, much hype ensued after the announcement: in interviews with outlets like mtv.com, DeLonge proclaimed (among other things) that the new music would take elements of bands like U2 and Pink Floyd and ultimately be something of a revolution to change the face of rock roll forever.Rounding out brainchild and songwriter DeLonge were guitarist David Kennedy (Boxcar Racer, Hazen Street), drummer Atom Willard (Rocket from the Crypt, the Offspring), and bassist Ryan Sinn (the Distillers). ‘Revelation’ 3-Disk Set Coming From Journey
The release of Revelation in June will mark the first one since the legendary classic rock group was joined by singer Arnel Pineda.
Taking a page from the Eagles’ playbook, the new 3-disk set will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart. The Eagles did quite well with their release, which makes one wonder if these new Wal-Mart deals will be something we see a lot more of in the future.
The new 3-disk set will consist of two CDs and one DVD. The first CD will present 11 "classic" Journey tunes that have been re-recorded. The second CD will contain 11 new songs and the DVD is live concert footage.
Fans can expect information in the coming weeks regarding Journey’s tour which will kick off this summer. The group has already been confirmed for the Arrow Rock Festival in Nijmegen, the Netherlands on June 15. The festival will also feature performances from Def Leppard, KISS, Whitesnake and Twisted Sister.

Australian Woman Takes Her Springsteen Seriously
I don’t think too many people would question Karen Lee Cooper’s dedication to the music of Bruce Springsteen, although I think it would be fair to question her sanity.
Cooper was recently sentenced in an Australian court to eight years in jail after pleading guilty to manslaughter which stemmed from an attack in 2006 where she stabbed her boyfriend to death.
Apparently, Ms. Cooper enjoys listening to Bruce Springsteen on her CD player, but her boyfriend, Kevin Watson, did not count himself among Springsteen’s many fans, and proceeded to voice his displeasure with Ms. Cooper’s choice of music on July 8, 2006.
When Mr. Watson decided to get physical with Ms. Cooper’s CD player, she picked up a knife and stabbed him. Although she did call authorities to summon help following the incident, Mr. Watson died before help arrived.
A short time later, police located Cooper outside where she had gone after swallowing a number of pills in a failed suicide attempt.
I guess it’s is nice for a performer to hear about a fan that is willing to defend her dedication, but I don’t think this is the kind of incident “The Boss” likes to hear about.

Joe Perry Sidelined For Knee Surgery
It appears that the two shows Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry performed with his sons recently may have aggravated an existing problem with one of the 57-year-old rockers knees and forced him to schedule surgery on March 18.
The surgery has resulted in the postponement of a show on April 5 in Niagara Falls, New York.
Perry, has been suffering with a problem knee for around two years and had been putting off treatment to avoid disrupting Aerosmith’s schedule.

What makes Bruce Springsteen one of the definitive live performers of all time is his ability to transform his material into larger than life epics that are a piece of a bigger story arc, it just ain’t happening this time around.

LED ZEPPELIN’s ‘Song’ To Receive Blu-Ray And HD DVD Release This Month
According to High-Def Digest, after a series of street date delays, Warner has announced a late February Blu-ray and HD DVD arrival for the LED ZEPPELIN’s concert classic “The Song Remains the Same”.
Originally planned for release in November of last year (day-and-date on Blu-ray, HD DVD and standard-def), Warner subsequently delayed “The Song Remains the Same” on all formats by three weeks. That new December street date didn’t last long, however, with the studio again yanking the title from its release schedule only days before it was due to hit stores.
